Currently in Carmacks, Mile 177.

Dave arrived at Carmacks in the past hour and it looks like he’s going to stay for awhile. Dave and the Gang are 177 miles into the Quest and currently hold 4th place. Some teams will make their move early in the game and try to establish a significant lead on the other teams. It’ll be interesting to see how long Dave and the Gang rest. Be sure to “Like” the Yukon Quest on Facebook to receive their excellent updates! Next stop, Pelly Crossing!  Still going strong with 14 awesome dogs!

Lee Lowery helps line out the team!

Lee Lowry has been a friend to Dave and the Gang since 1992, when he met Dave while acting as Business Manager for the Yukon Quest. Since '92, Lee has handled for Dave in several races, kept the home fires buring in Healy when the team was traveling, and coached rookie handlers through their first experiences handling on the Quest. Lee is currently the human companion to world-famous Dalton Gang Lead Dog - now retired - Ganges.

Truckin’

Dave dropping dogs outside of Whitehorse. the gang's dog truck has pickets for each dog, so when Dave is traveling to the Quest he can stop every couple hours to let them out to pee. Two sleds are better than one! Dave's main sled is a super light Gatt sled but he always brings a backup in case something should occur!
